A pale figure sat on the edge of a big rock in the Fourtrees clearing. Her blue eyes glistened upward, staring into the night. The moon was glorious tonight, and it was almost time for the meeting of the clans. As far as she knew, Snowshimmer was alone for now.
The she-cat drew a deep breath, preparing herself for a very tense night. It has been only a couple moons since the last cat went missing, without a trace, from Riverclan territory. Nobody is sure what happened to the poor cat. Suspicions arise that it was Shadowclan, trying to send a message. But if it was, shouldn't there have been some clue as to the cat's whereabouts? The she-cat closed her eyes, silently asking Starclan for strength in this difficult time. "Shadowclan is evil enough to do it," she thought, her mind wandering to the night of her mother and siblings' death.
The sharp she-cat let a sigh escape her lips. "No, Snowshimmer, we don't know that. We must stay neutral. Especially tonight," she thought. Her bright blue eyes opened again, peering into the distance. "Hello?" she asked, feeling as though she was being watched. "If only you could see me now, Mama. You would be so proud," the she-cat whispered to herself.

Ottershine, Robinsong, Whitecloud, Pineneedle, Willowleaf, Badgerstripe, Jaggedtooth, Graymist and Echostep all filed in behind her. The RiverClan cats looked a lot skinnier.
I shiver went cold down my spine as I watched the cats below me. Pushing away any doubt I might have of the cats, I begin to speak. "As weather is getting cooler, prey is becoming scarcer. Even though prey is becoming harder to find, my clan is not weak, we are only growing in strength and trust in StarClan. ShadowClan may go next." I shoot a glare at the ShadowClan leader and stepped back near Lakestar.
The young tom sauntered his way toward the familiar clearing that was the Fourtrees. It was a rather pleasant night, the cool leaf-fall temperatures making this night a little more comfortable. He would have to meet with all the clans together, but he wasn't scared. He was strong. He was always strong. He had to be, for his clan. Besides, somebody has to tell those mouse-brains at the meeting what-for. Somebody has been catnapping warriors, and he'll be da*ned if his warriors are going missing.
Just outside the clearing, Brazenstar stopped, taking in the sight of all the cats gathered near the large rock. A silver she-cat sat atop the rock and her pale medicine cat sat on the edge. Brazenstar smirked. "This ought to be fun," he said. Padding closer, he noticed another leader she-cat on the rock, although this one was more blue and calling to the other leader. Brazenstar rolled his eyes, and proceeded to climb onto the rock to take his leader-spot next to the others.
His eyes found his followers below him, and smiled. The tension in the air was a given, but tonight would be no fighting. There was a truce, after all. He locked eyes with the silver she-cat speaking. Why was she glaring at him? He just got here. Oh, right, because he's Shadowclan blahblah. Brazenstar glared back, the shackles on the ends of his fur raising in a warning. He did not like to be glared at. Brazenstar glanced down at his clan once again, and let his temper subside. Truce. Truce.
The she-cat stepped back, queuing his turn to speak. He let out a breath, and stepped up. "Tensions are all high right now. This we know, but we must all remain calm and trust in Starclan to get us through this difficult time. It has been a few moons since the last warrior has gone missing, and so they are being spaced out. But we are not in the clear yet. We must be cautious. Take care of our clans, and stay in groups for hunting." The tom stepped back, not knowing what else to say. How could he give these cats false hope, when in reality any one of them could be the killer?

Lakester stepped forward in her turn to speak. "RiverClan has been blessed this season." She mewed as she glanced around the clan. "There has been a lot of missing cats lately. First Foxfoot then Snowkit and Fernkit. We believe that the cat stealing them is aiming for just us. We also think the attacker lives nearby because they haven't affected many other clans. We will be preparing our camp and will be ready for the attack. I, myself have my own suspicion." She glances at Shadow Clan. "But we will leave that till we have evidence."
Lakestar jumped off great rock and started to socialize with the cats. She liked to talk with the apprentices from every clan pointing out tips and asking how they are. This time she decided to focus on one apprentice. She singled her out like there was no cat else there. "Hello, Bluepaw!" She greeted kindly.
Bluepaw of Thunder Clan replied with "Umm, hi Lakestar. What do you want from me?" As she said that her mentor Thisleheart scolded her.
"Bluepaw! Don't speak to the RiverClan leader like that!" Exclaimed Thisleheart.
"I'm sorry" blurted Bluepaw. "I didn't mean it like that."
"Oh it's totally fine, I understand. I bet you are not used to a leader of a different clan talking to you. Right? Well I just wanted to point out that when you are fighting, hide your tail next to your body. I saw you the other day fighting off a kittypet." Lakestar said. "Well, I need to go back to my clan, and I hope you had a great gathering experience" she finished with a smile.
"Oh, thank you for giving my apprentice a battle tip. I could have never taught her something like that. I know some good moves, but never learned this one!" Thisleheart replied as she left, gazing into Bluepaws wide eyes.
Snowshimmer tensed a little as the Shadowclan leader made his appearance. He was that kind of cat who had such a strong aura that one could feel as soon as he was in range. Snowshimmer didn't exactly like having him here, but it was, after all, a meeting of the clans. All clans. Snowshimmer watched the shackles of the leader raise and then fall, when she finally let out a breath. She didn't realize she had been holding her breath this whole time. She was certainly glad for the truce Starclan decreed on the area. She knew that cat had a temper.
Snowshimmer listened to all the leaders had to say, announcing how strong their respective clans were, how scarce prey would become, and then finally acknowledging the missing clan members. Snowshimmer closed her eyes, willing herself to speak, "Miss Lakestar, sorry, but why do you think they are aiming for just your clan? There have been a few cats missing from other clans as well." Snowshimmer dipped her head in respect at the leader, sorry she had just interrupted her announcements, but she felt it was necessary.
Just like that, it seemed the meeting was about over. The Riverclan leader left her spot on the large rock, and began conversing with cats in the clearing. Snowshimmer attempted to lock eyes with her clan leader, Silverstar, to get approval to leave her edge upon the rock.
Lakestar narrowed her eyes toward Snowshimmer. "I am sorry for that statement. I do understand that the attacker is taking all of our Clanmates. But I meant to say was that I mean the aim toward us in a way where they have advantage. Somehow I guess that we are just very worried at the time but that is no reason for RiverClan to appear as weak. We are gravely sorry for all rhe clans who have suffered the lose of many loved ones." She took a step back in a way to end the meeting. She still had mixed emotions about the attack. She then raced up and caught their attention again. "Has any medicine cats had a vision about this? An omen? We need Star Clan now more than ever. With leafbare coming, and the lack of warriors, we will all suffer a bad change. I, leader of RiverClan, have made a suggestion right here on the spot. We all get together, forget about patrols... and we hunt for each other and we can all try to track down the attacker. I know thunderclan has a lot of good noses in their clan, maybe they can help detect the attacker for us. Shadow clan can help RiverClan with hunting and WindClan does scattered assignments. We could live like this until it's time to go back." She glances around all the cats with a nervous feeling in her. It felt like her heart was in her throat.
I watched as Lakestar gathered the medicine cats together. Pricking my ears, I caught the last part of the conversation. "We all hunt together, forget about the patrols..." that was all I needed to hear. Butting inbetween Lakestar and Snowshimmer, I began to speak. "Lakestar, no. We are separate clans for a reason. We are not meant to be together. Us leaders have different opinions and even though I like trying to work together, it could end in disaster. I appreciate the offer, but it would never work." I locked my eyes with Lakestar for a few more moments and flicked my tail for Snowshimmer, Dovefeather, and Eagleswoop, my mate. The rest of my cats followed slowly, finishing their conversations with the other clans. I shivered as I felt Lakestar's eyes burn into my pelt, put shook it off as I called for Snowshimmer.
"But you don't understand. We will all die it'd we don't do this!" She exclaimed as she had reminded herself that she recently lost her past mate due to greencough. Her mate was Fallowtail and they were mates when she was just a warrior, she had to give him up when she became deputy. These thoughts clogged her brain like fog on a stormy day. She felt as if she was hit hard... "Silverstar, I believe we NEED to do this. If not we will all die! Remember what happened to Fernclan? They ALL died because we decided not to help them! Do you really want to risk your clans' lives because you can't get off your high horse and agree with another cat for once?" She fumed.
As Lakestar looked around her clan. She noticed they were missing something. Greymist! She wasn't there! "Greymist is missing!" She shrieked. "Where did she go? How? Who?" She shuddered as she thought of the great battle a while ago. She hated having this talent. She doesn't like being reminded of her past life to relate to right now. She started a low growl "Which cat did it?!" She yowled. She was pacing on the great rock nervously. She felt hot with embarrassment. Some cat was staring at her. She whipped around and saw a very small, black cat with piercing eyes. Who is that? She thought.
I turned around as I heard Lakestar's desperate plea. By this time rage bubbled inside me. How dare she insult me like that! "FernClan is gone. If StarClan didn't want them here anymore, that's their problem. My clan is perfectly fine alone. We have survived many leaf-falls as our own separate clans. This year will be no different." I jumped up on a small ledge and yowled for the cats to come back. "All leaders, deputy's, and medicine cats will meet here one moon rise after half-moon. We will discuss this then." I juped down from the ledge and let out a small snarl under my breath. This will never work! How could Lakestar be so mousebrained? Flicking my tail I turned around and started to head back to camp.
Lakestar It has been half moon and a day since last gathering. She was with Ottershine and Williowleaf. She had a bad feeling about this. She new staying together for leaf bare would be the best option, but some frog-brain thought they were too good to accept help. She had to accept that though and calmly entered with her head high and her eyes staring directly at the Great Rock. She had been last to arrive, again. The wind clan leader (Name) was giving her nasty looks.
Wind clan leader "How is it that you are always last to join the gathering?"
Lakestar "How is it that your patrol had stopped us when we were headed a few minutes early? Anyways, how are your clans getting on in the late leaf fall? My clan has been fine... we are ready for leaf bare." She had been really nervous because her clan had not been good. The rest of Runningstream's kits were missing and there has been tired warriors dozing off and a mischievous apprentice trying to walk on ice. She knew that her clan was in more need than ever.
